Dr. Washam’s published rate for court-involved and forensic professional services is $225 per 55 minutes.

Published fee categories

Traditional outpatient psychotherapy is $150 per 55-minute session. Reunification therapy and court-involved or forensic professional services are $225 per 55 minutes. Work outside sessions is billed under the applicable professional arrangement; some time may be prorated.

The practice is self-pay and does not participate in insurance networks. Payment is accepted by cash or check. The applicable rate and any required retainer should be confirmed before services begin.

Work outside a session

Court-involved services may also involve review of records, consultation with authorized professionals, preparation, reports, depositions, hearings, or testimony. These are professional services and may be billed at the court-involved rate when included in the accepted engagement.

Retainers and cancellation

For a formal court-related or forensic engagement, the stated retainer is $2,250, replenished if necessary; unused funds are returned according to the engagement terms. The existing cancellation policy generally requires 24 hours’ notice. Confirm these terms and any applicable exceptions before scheduling.

Insurance and payment responsibility

Services are provided on a self-pay basis; the practice accepts cash or check only and does not bill insurance. An initial inquiry about availability is not a clinical consultation. Scheduled assessment, therapy, and other professional work are fee-based.

If an order or agreement allocates fees, ask how that arrangement will be reflected in the engagement. Do not assume that the person making the initial inquiry is automatically responsible for every charge.

Questions worth asking before you begin

What is the expected scope of the engagement? Which activities are charged separately from scheduled sessions? Is a retainer required? How are statements provided, and what happens if payment arrangements change?

An accurate total cannot be promised before the work is defined. Before scheduling, Dr. Washam explains the relevant rates, payment arrangements, and any retainer so that families understand the financial terms.
